BEACHES

Mole Beach is our starting point, it is the beach where we are based, the nearest one from all others and the one that has the most constant waves throughout the year.

Florianópolis, the city where Mole Beach is located, is an oceanic island, with about 80 kilometers of extention and more than 100 beaches surrounding it, from which we have carefully chosen the most special and various ones when it comes to surfing, visual and nature.

Surfing through the beaches we have chosen, you will be ready to take the next step, to choose which package is ideal for you: either you feel like staying in front of the hotel, doing completely nothing and surfing everyday in Mole, or your mood is trying a different beach each day.

MOLE BEACH

It´s in Mole that the most beautiful youth of Florianópolis gets together. A special beach to know people, to meet friends and, undoubtedly, to see some of the most beautiful women in Brazil. Mole is also the beach of sports. In this beach, through the whole year, surfing, bodyboarding, tow-in, kite surfing, windsurfing, beach tennis and, in the slopes of the hills around them, paragliding and climbing are practiced.

Surrounded by green mountains and by the sea, Mole is the only access to other two beautiful untouched beaches. Galheta, separated by a big coast with silhouette of an indian laying down, and Gravatá, this small beach that can be seen in the picture beside.

Much can be said about Mole Beach, but it is better you come over, take a good look and really begin to understand the great care the city inhabitants have for it.

GALHETA BEACH

Galheta only takes about five minutes walk from Mole Beach and, besides being near, the geography and ondulation similarities, these beaches have great variety, turning Galheta the only and must go beach, both for more experienced or beginer surfers and children.

Going to Galheta is a pleasant ten minutes walk, walking round the big coast through a track amidst the huge atlantic forest vegetation, true green corridor to paradise.

JOAQUINA BEACH

Joaquina, sweetly known as Joaca, is one of the most famous beaches in Brazil because of its waves of international level and perfect tubes.

Stage of the biggest surf championships of 80´s and 90´s, when the sport started being respected in the country, Joaca is a big oportunity to eagerly remember about a golden era, when surf festivals took place, such as “Rock, Surf & Brotos”.

In 2003, Joaca turned back to the world scenery of surfing in big style, hosting a WCT stage for the first time in south of Brazil.

CAMPECHE BEACH (RIOZINHO)

Joaquina´s continuation, Riozinho peak, in Campeche, has a channel beside tube waves that help surfing more waves in less time, without considering the view of being between two wonderful islands: Santa Catarina, where Florianópolis is, and Campeche.

MORRO DAS PEDRAS

Going South in Floripa, Morro das Pedras Beach is visited by athlete surfers from all of the island. Its constant and manoeuvrable waves are ideal for practicing in a competitive and friendly environment at the same time.

Undoubtedly, Morro das Pedras is one of the best beaches for testing your skills and making friends with experienced surfers.

CALDEIRÃO

Named as Caldeirão due to its “larga-mar” strength that, making up a channel, helps surfers to turn outside, this beach is excelent for shooting a free surf session with friends.
From the sea, an ancient nun monastery view incrusted in the mountain gives a medieval aspect to the scenery.

CANTO DA ARMAÇÃO

Ideal for beginers, Canto da Armação is a typically Azorian beach, where the visitor can live the culture that has excellently colonized our Island.

The picturesque and provincial environment appeals not only to surf turism, but also to cultural one, with its typical fisherman restaurants, handicraft houses and a beautiful Azorian little church in front to the sea.

MATADEIRO BEACH

Probably one of the most unsual views of the island, Matadeiro Beach is unique.

You get there going cross a small river that separates from Armação Beach. It is surrounded by beautiful natural stone observatories and it is still blessed by an expectacular sunset that are really amazing.

SOLIDÃO BEACH

Before last beach at the extreme south of the island, Solidão (Loneliness), as the name itself suggests, is pratically virgin and desert, inhabited only by some few fishermen. Being very small, it provides a cozy mood.

Fast and manoeuvrable waves ensure unforgettable sessions to different surfing levels, with the remarkable serenety of the south of the island.

NAUFRAGADOS BEACH

If you want an isolated peak to enjoy a flatboat worthy of the best surf adventure movies, Naufragados is the right beach.

In the extreme south of the island, it is impossible to get to Naufragados by car, remaining only two options: walking 40 minutes in a track amidst Mata Atlântica or an alternative that we have set apart for you: a boat crossing from Island Ribeirão, taking you about 15 minutes.

Ribeirão is a blend of rural and fishing comunity - a beautiful contrast in an island which is both Santa Catarina big state capital and Mercosul touristic capital.

Certainly, the most different surfing is practiced in Naufragados: a move where you will oar to the waves jumping off a boat beyong the breaking of the waves, experiencing the freedom of going from the sea to the sea.

BARRA DA LAGOA

Barra da Lagoa is one of the most traditional and developed fishing comunities in Florianopolis, and forms the social heart of the island.  It has become home to families from all over Brazil.

What makes this a special beach: the channel at its left, which joins the ocean to Lagoa da Conceição; two beautiful lighthouses, one at each entrance of the channel, few meters from the peak; nice waves to learn how to surf, and the fact of being one of the few surfing areas when the whole Island is undertow.

CAMPING DA BARRA

Some hundreds of meters to north, still in Barra da Lagoa, Camping da Barra is another great option as there are great waves for surfing classes, consistent and smooth lefts and right breaks.

During days of bigger ondulations, there are more low waves, as in the picture beside, Roger, our Surf Camp teacher, is surfing.

MOÇAMBIQUE BEACH

With more than ten kilometers of extention and presenting several troughs, this beach is a real wave factory.

Usually, crowd is small there, besides the excelent waves, it is distant from the biggest population concentrations of the island.

It is nice to go there with few friends and have one of its troughs as a whole playground for yourselves.

CANTO DAS ARANHA

Almost a secret spot, this peak is not much known in Floripa.

As Barra da Lagoa beach, but at the opposite point, thirteen kilometers of distance, the access is through a not paved road amidst a classified forest. It is recomended by intermediate and advanced surfers.

INGLESES BEACH

Usually without waves, Ingleses Beach is visited by families that enjoy easy and warm waters.

On the other hand, during the few times of undertow, even storms, when traditional surf beaches are unpractical, a perfect swell turn the beach into a real wave machine.

As Mole Beach, Brava is an excelent place for flirting, since it´s in these two beaches that you can certainly find the most beautiful women of the island.

Surrounded by the ocean from one side, and by beautiful and fancy apartment condominia from the other, this is a very pleasant and interesting beach to be visited.
